Kazan International Airport named after a towering figure of Tatar literature Gabdulla Tuqay is 8th busiest in Russia and 86th busiest in Europe with 5,4 mln. passengers in 2024. Kazan is a hub for Nordwind Airlines and the local airline UVT Aero. Of course, you can see other major Russian airlines and some international regular and charter flight there. In Kazan, it is sometimes possible to catch military transport aircrafts and planes produced at the Kazan Aviation Plant of the United Aircraft Corporation. The choice of spotting points is limited. The best spots are on a country road near the south-eastern perimeter of the airport. At the square in front of the terminal there is a Yak-42D, which once flew as a business jet.
